Wholesale Engine documentation

Install Wholesale Engine, configure your wholesale store and get the most out of every feature.

Requirements

Wholesale Engine runs on any WooCommerce store that meets these minimums:

  • WordPress 6.4 or greater
  • WooCommerce 7.0 or greater (installed and active)
  • PHP 7.4 or greater

Installation

Automatic installation

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard and go to Plugins → Add New.
  2. Search for “Wholesale Engine”.
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate.
  4. Open the Wholesale Engine menu to set up roles, pricing and settings.

Manual installation

  1. Download the plugin ZIP file from WordPress.org.
  2. Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and choose the ZIP.
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate.
  4. Make sure WooCommerce is installed and active.

Getting started

After activation, the Quick Setup wizard walks you through store mode, wholesale roles and the registration form. You can reopen it any time from the “Quick Setup” link on the Plugins screen.

Prefer to set things up by hand?

  1. Create one or more wholesale roles (e.g. Distributor, Retailer).
  2. Add pricing rules or a role baseline discount.
  3. Build your registration form and add its shortcode to a page.
  4. Choose your store mode (B2B, B2C or Hybrid) under Settings.

Set up role-based pricing

Go to Wholesale Engine → User Roles, create a role (for example “Wholesale Customer”) and set its baseline discount. Assign the role to customers, or let them apply through the wholesale registration form.

For product-, category- or quantity-specific prices, add a rule under Pricing Rules and target that role.

Hide prices until login

Turn on Login to view price under Settings → Price. Guests see your custom message and a login link instead of the price and the Add to cart button.

For a fully closed wholesale store, use Private store or the B2B (Wholesale only) store mode.

Create a registration form

Open Wholesale Engine → Registration, drag in the fields you need (company name, VAT / tax ID, business type and more), choose an approval method and copy the shortcode onto any page. The Quick Setup wizard can also create the registration page for you.

Minimum & maximum quantities

Add a minimum / maximum quantity rule for a wholesale role, product or category. The limits are enforced in the cart and at checkout.

Tax-exempt customers

Mark a wholesale role as tax exempt, or add a tax rule that exempts specific customers or forces a tax class. Prices can also be shown including or excluding tax per role.

Find wholesale orders

Go to WooCommerce → Orders. The Wholesale Engine column marks wholesale orders, and the Wholesale / Retail filter shows only the orders you need.

Installing Pro

Wholesale Engine Pro is a separate add-on that installs alongside the free plugin. Keep the free plugin installed and active, then upload and activate the Pro add-on from Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.

Placeholder License activation steps will be added here when Pro is released.

Data & privacy

Nothing is sent unless you agree. The first Quick Setup step asks whether to share basic, non-sensitive environment data to help improve the plugin; nothing is sent if you click “Skip”. No customer, order, product, pricing or visitor data is ever sent. See our Data Collection Policy and Privacy Policy.
